Product Description
This is a Ready-to-Run expert built radio control model of the GAZOO Racing TRD 86 race car. The kit has been built by Tamiya’s expert builders (XB) to ensure the beginning R/C enthusiast receives a high quality built car so they may enjoy driving it right out of the box.
The GAZOO Racing TRD 86 body is mounted on Tamiya’s entry level TT-01 Type ES chassis platform. The TT-01 is easy to drive as it’s fitted with independent double wishbone suspension and full time 4WD. The TT-01 is also a very simple car to maintain with inexpensive replacement parts and over 70 Hop-Up-Options available.
The TRD 86 is a car based on the Toyota 86 and it’s completely optioned out by TRD, Toyota’s in-house tuning shop. This vehicle was run by the GAZOO Racing team, and took part in the Shinshiro Rally stage of the multi-stage TRD Rally Challenge Series held in Japan in 2012. The car finished in a credible 13th place overall (8th in the Toyota-only Class 4), but perhaps most remarkably, the GAZOO Racing TRD 86 was actually driven by the President of the Toyota motor company during the race.
Note: TT-01 ES models are streamlined versions of the regular TT-01 Type E models as they use a less expensive tire.
